OLUMIDE AMBALI
Prior to joining Ashford & McGuire, Olumide acquired extensive experience as a Business Analyst in internal Consulting. He joined Ashford & McGuire from Honeywell Group, Nigeria. The projects he had worked on range from business process performance improvement to business strategy. He also gained major experience in business strategy ranging from corporate strategy and branding to business performance improvement and environmental & opportunities research.
Olumide is a mechanical engineer by training. He graduated from the University of Lagos. Ask him why he’s not practicing engineering, he recounts that he loves thought-stimulating activities as well as designing and developing concepts. “Nothing is really work unless you would rather do something else. I cannot be happy if my job does not give me room to be creative”. Projects he has particularly enjoyed include pioneering the development of Performance Measurement Systems for business processes and concept development for a Software Technology Park. Due to his conceptual thinking ability, he has excelled in business startup projects.
His attraction to Ashford & McGuire is the commitment to delivering value to clients. “I particularly recall the interview process – how professionally it was conducted.” Another point of interest is the ValuePlus model which enables clients define their Value Indicators.
Olumide has a passion for Project Management because projects result in the creation of a unique solution of value to its sponsors. “You can never get bored on projects because of their dynamic nature.”
His ambition is to develop and implement policies that will drive economic growth as well as industrial and technological development in Nigeria. He reiterates further that he saw the relationship between business strategy and project management on one hand and his future ambition of steering his country’s development at the start of his career on the other hand.
In his spare time, Olumide loves visiting new places, listening to music and watching TV.
